Homebase garden furniture bursts into flames and sets house alight | UK | News

Kirsty Gawne was upstairs in her two-bedroom residence on July 19 when she observed a BBQ smell coming from the backyard garden. The 27-calendar year-outdated manufactured her way downstairs with her soiled laundry and identified her seven-thirty day period-outdated bulldog acting peculiarly.

Kirsty only bought the rattan a few-seater couch from Homebase 3 months prior to the fireplace, and claimed she put in close to £400 on it.

Merseyside Fireplace and Rescue Support reported: “Merseyside Fireplace & Rescue Service was called to Stockbridge Village. Crews have been alerted at 11.47am and on scene at 11.52am. Three fireplace engines attended.

“On arrival crews identified garden furnishings concerned in fire. The fireplace experienced also distribute to close by fencing. The hearth experienced been extinguished by 12.09pm and fireplace crews remained on scene until 1.18pm.

“It is thought the fireplace begun accidentally.”

Kirsty now wishes to make persons mindful of what happened to her and urge many others to retain an eye on their outside home furniture in the heat.
