Norwich mug-gifting program brings comfort to nursing home seniors

NORWICH — What started as a reduced-vital way to give again to senior citizens in the neighborhood is poised to grow.

For about the past 10 a long time, McKenna’s Flower Store has turned donated mugs into Christmastime decorations to give to seniors in nursing residences, underneath its Mug Earning Magic job. Just after the method was outlined at a Norwich Neighborhood Growth Corporation and Greenville Neighborhood Committee assembly on Jan. 6, multiple nearby corporations provided to be part of the effort and hard work to contribute mugs.

“It’s all about (community) Facebook now,” McKenna’s Flower Store owner Michael Rankowitz reported. “I was away for a few days and there is 150 mugs on the counter in my shop now. I’m not 100{3ad958c56c0e590d654b93674c26d25962f6afed4cc4b42be9279a39dd5a6531} sure wherever they arrived from.”

When Rankowitz was a member of Rose Metropolis Business enterprise Community Worldwide, anyone approached him to make decorations for nursing households, and he built about a couple dozen mug decorations that 1st year.
